Change for a Dollar: Sharefest and AARC

Every weekend, the people at Heartland drop a dollar or more into the blue bottles around the mall and 100% of the donations we receive go right back out to the community. We decided to use some of the Change for a Dollar reserves and gift Sharefest with $1,000.

We are also using last week’s COD combined with next week’s to gift the African American Resource Center at Booker with $1,000 for their summer camp program. The AARCB serves a population that has been distressed by crime, violence, under/un-employment, low achievement and poverty. The summer camp program gives children something positive to do to keep them from becoming involved with negative activity that can lead to violence. The summer program is vital to their efforts to keep children safe and away from negative behavior.

Thank you for partnering with this great organization. Keep dropping those dollars in the buckets every weekend, and we’ll keep making change for a dollar together!
